These discs were demonstrated at a hardware show in Germany and we were very surprised at the ease and control of these discs. The wood was being contoured, shaped and removed and the operator could see through the disc and the work was very precise as a result. The six solid carbide cutters will cut along the face of the disc or along the edge. Because the cutting face is flat it is easy to produce surprisingly smooth surfaces with accuracy and control. The openings in the disc enable you to see exactly where the wood is being removed and this tool is capable of doing very precise work on convex surfaces. The disc openings also create a fan effect which keeps the material cool. Special safety shield is included. The work must be secured in a vise, Triton Super Jaws or other sturdy work holder and as with all power tools please follow all safety precautions. Advantages: The disc uses a cutting action rather than a grinding action to create small shavings rather than dust. The cooling action of the disc eliminates burning or damage to the wood surface. Disc will not load up like abrasive type discs. The transparent disc allows full view of the area being worked. Works on most 4" and 4 1/2" angle grinders. Ideal for roughing out large carvings where precise wood removal is required. Works especially well on convex surfaces. Carbide blades can be sharpened with an ordinary diamond stone.
