Rustic furniture making is becoming very popular, particularly in the rural or mountain areas of America. The basic joint for this type of furniture is the round tenon which fits into a drilled hole. Historically, these tenons have been made using a drawknife, spokeshave or chisels. The quality of the joint depended on the skill and patience of the maker. The Logman Tenon Maker is designed to produce tenons quickly and accurately. The unit consists of a router (ROUTER NOT INCLUDED) and a carbide cutter for wood removal, a wood guide for centering the tenon and keeping the tenon to a uniform diameter, and a base for clamping the tenon maker to a workbench providing a secure, vibration free unit. There are 4 wood guides available for this unit and they are easily changed for making different sized tenons. The smaller wood guides have two to four different hole sizes where the larger guides only make one size tenon. Requires a router capable of accepting 1/2" shank router bits (Router Not Included) Logman Tenon Maker Kit now includes 2 guides. One will make 5/8" and 2" dia. tenons the other makes 1" and 1 1/2" tenons.
