LEATHER LANYARD

I added one of these to my hiking staff two years ago and it is wonderful! I have about 120 miles of prep hikes on it plus two treks at BSA Philmont in northern NM using one of these lanyards on my hiking staff and love it. I added the brass concho and am quite pleased. The wide strap is perfect and allows you to use the lanyard as part of your grip by inserting your hand through the lanyard, and then grabbing the staff. This definitely increases the stability of your hiking staff and because it is wide, it won't cut into your hand/wrist. In all, I have over 300miles using this lanyard, I won't hike without it! I have been ordering these leather lanyards along with leather conchos and economy compasses every year for a project at the kids school for the last 4 years. Alway very good quality and delivered on time.

I was a little concerned when I first ordered these - I thought they might be too flimsy. They're not! They're quite strong and thick and should hold up very well to the rigors of serious walking stick use. Note, however, that the product description claims a 3/8" hole will be sufficient. I don't see how that's physically possible. I can just barely squeeze both ends of one of these through a 5/8" hole. (Posted on 11/19/10)
