Loved it, but it did not last. Review by Carver Freed
Purchased the tool for use on my duck carvings. It only lasted a couple of months. It was my favorite tool for it's size and versatility. I was heartbroken when it broke. (Posted on 2/24/11)

Good tool for light duty carving Review by fiddler44
I bought this tool for use on a specific bowl I was carving and it did the job just fine. Admittedly, the grinder sounds kind of loose - I called Proxon and they said it was normal, use it and let them know if I had a problem. The motor and front gearbox do heat up a bit with extended or heavy use.
I use the coarse and medium Kutzall wheels but found, for my application, that the Arbortech Mini Carbide Cutter worked more quickly and smoothly. Frankly, I was at a dead end trying to figure out how to carve a difficult detail on a large cherry bowl. The Proxon Angle Grinder got in there, did the job, and the best part, allowed me to easily re-coup the cost of the tool on that one bowl.
Bottom line: A bit pricey, noisy and not up to heavy carving, but it works for me! (Posted on 11/2/10) -
